THE SHIFT

“Four bedrooms.”

↓

“Room for movie night together and a quieter place to unwind.”

A feature becomes a reason to stay
01

SHOW THE BENEFIT

Room counts don’t tell the whole story.

BEFORE

“Four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a full kitchen.”

PROPOSED OPENING

“Two lounges: room for movie night together and a quieter place to unwind.”

Why it works: Guests can picture how their group will use the space.

See the evidence and guardrails

Fictional facts confirm separate upstairs and downstairs guest lounges. Invented reviews describe kids watching movies downstairs while adults talk upstairs.

  • Keep room counts in the detailed description.
  • Do not invent complete privacy or soundproof rooms.
02

MAKE THE APPEAL SPECIFIC

“Dog friendly” can say more.

BEFORE

“Bring your dog to our comfortable cabin.”

PROPOSED OPENING

“A fenced yard for your dog and an easy place to unwind after a day outdoors.”

Keep the terms: Dog fee: $75 per stay. One dog allowed, up to 40 pounds.

See the evidence and guardrails

The complete original fictional copy includes those exact fees and limits. Fictional facts confirm a fully fenced guest yard; invented guest feedback praises easy dog access. Keep the fee and limit in the pet-rules field. Do not claim the yard is escape-proof or suitable for every dog.

03

CHECK THE PROMISE FIRST

A better sentence can’t fix an unclear fact.

BEFORE

“Enjoy your own private bathroom.”

HOLD FOR VERIFICATION

Private or shared? Confirm access before promising either.

If shared access is confirmed: “This bedroom uses the shared hallway bathroom.”

See the evidence and guardrails

Another fictional field describes the bathroom as shared. Ask who uses it and how it is accessed. Proposed wording stays conditional until management confirms the facts.

A quick opening checklist

  • What do guests repeatedly value?
  • Do property facts support the benefit?
  • Is that benefit buried or already obvious?
  • Does the wording promise too much?
  • Are capacities, fees and access limits still clear?

Google discovery and Airbnb search are different. A clear description serves guests; it is not a guaranteed ranking formula. Airbnb describes price, quality, popularity and other factors in its search guidance.
